In recognition of National Food Bank Day on September 1st, The Listing Real Estate Management hosted a virtual food drive throughout the month in support of the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. The Listing raised $1,025, translating to 4,100 meals to families in need in the Central Florida area.
The Listing closed out the month of September by going above and beyond the virtual food drive, dedicating the afternoon to volunteering at Second Harvest Food Bank. Team members were able to package an outstanding number of 595 boxes, equivalent to roughly 7,000 meals.
Second Harvest Food Bank’s mission is to create hope and nourish lives through a powerful hunger relief network, while multiplying the generosity of a caring community. The organization collects and distributes food to over 625 Central Florida feeding partners including food pantries, daycare centers, soup kitchens, women’s shelters, senior centers and more.
The organization also works to provide residents in need with employment and life skills through the 16-week Culinary Training Program. This program provides adults the training and skills needed to pursue a full-time career in the food industry. With this program, not only is Second Harvest Food Bank providing meals to those struggling with food insecurity, but is giving them the opportunity and resources to permanently change their lives.
At The Listing Real Estate management, we believe it is important to help our neighbors and our community no matter how big or small the act, and we encourage others to do so as well. We greatly appreciate all of the donors who helped us reach our fundraising goal and we look forward to making an even greater impact in the future.
